One significant lesson that stood out to me in Multicultural Literature is that identity is complex and shaped by many different experiences, cultures, and perspectives. Throughout the course, I learned that people cannot be understood through stereotypes or a single story because everyone has their own unique background. This lesson is meaningful to me because it reminds me to keep an open mind and not judge others too quickly. It also connects to my own experiences because I have seen how people can make assumptions without really knowing someone, which shows the importance of understanding and respect.
